About Ndegwa

Brian Ndegwa is an experienced IT professional with a background in system development, network administration, and artificial intelligence. As a Software Engineer at Felsoft Systems Limited, he contributed to developing systems for the East African Community. He also works as a Full Stack Engineer at WEMA: Work Experience and Mentorship Academy, focusing on creating educational and mentorship platforms.

Brian has a strong record in hackathons and competitions. His team emerged as Overall Winners in the National Research Fund Kenya Hackathon, and he was a Finalist in the East Africa Intervarsity CTF Competition. Brian also achieved 3rd place in the Nairobi Tech Week Sub-Saharan Africa Hackathon at Strathmore University.

One of Brian’s notable projects, RONA, a virtual assistant designed to combat misinformation, was recognized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as one of the Top 50 Innovations in Africa in the UNDP Africa Innovates Magazine 2020 edition read more here. In his role as an IBM Campus Ambassador, Brian launched the IBM Innovation Club, bridging the gap between academics and industry skills. He has built software solutions like EcoYield.AI, a tool for optimizing crop choices based on local conditions. At Nyena Sacco, he digitized records and improved internal processes. Brian enjoys solving problems through technology and mentoring others to build practical skills.
